District - Website

The District 9930 Website fulfills two essential functions:

  1. The website is the "Face of the District".  It is where interested visitors can find extensive information about Rotary and the through the efforts of Rotarians, Rotary Clubs, and many programmes of District 9930.
  2. The website provides support and administrative functions for the district and its clubs.  It is a central database for the member records of all clubs which is automatically synced with the Rotary International database.  We website provides information and contact details about every club, about district programmes, and The Rotary Foundation.  It is a source of regular news updates and it provides current news and information about activities in the district.   It is a communications instrument between the district and its members.  And it serves as a contact directory for all district and club leaders.
Designing and maintaining a website that fulfills these functions is a big job, and as with almost all other functions of the district the operation of the district website is performed by volunteers.

Meet the District 9930 Website Team
Website Manager
Max Patmoy (Ahuriri) steps into a new website job as the "Website Coordinator".  A casual browse through this website will reveal that it includes a great deal of information, most of which have to be updated on a regular basis.  Further, there are constant changes in individuals and committees who are responsible for various functions in our district.  Max is responsible for collecting, editing, and updating all of the narrative content on the website and keeping the contact details for the district leaders current.

District Webmaster and Calendar Manager
Ralph Slooten (Napier) is the only true techno-professional on the team, running his own website design and development company in Napier.  However, the work he does for our district he does as a Rotarian volunteer.  As district webmaster overseas all aspects of the website, and is responsible for all technical functions. The webmaster carries out a wide range of hands-on activities functions and provides technical support to the other members of the team.

Communications & Website Database Manager
Gavin Petrie (Fairfield) was our district webmaster for over eleven years and was singled handedly responsible for bringing our district into the computer age.  In 2014 Gavin stepped back from the role of "full time" webmaster but he continues to look after the communication functions of the district, sending out district-wide notices as well as updating the database and supporting the overall operation of the website with his many years of experience and extensive D9930 history.

District Database and RI Integration Manager
Susan Campbell (Maketu)  looks after an essential element of this website – a comprehensive database of membership records for over 1,600 Rotarians, as well as useful information about every club and its leaders.  When properly used by club secretaries the database is automatically integrated with the Rotary International database.  Susan keeps the database in order and assists Club and District leaders in “keeping the records straight”.   Susan is no stranger to the operations of our district, or to the world or Rotary technology.  She previously served as our district's Rotary Foundation Chair, and also as the Foundation Administrator.  And her professional background is in education including teaching computer literacy in Fiji.
