Report of ShelterBox Quiz Night;
Thursday 28 October 2021
On Thursday 28 October, the Taradale Rotary Club and Claire Connor (ShelterBox NZ Ambassador/Volunteer & Rotary District 9930 ShelterBox Representative) organised a ‘’Shine for ShelterBox NZ’’ Dinner and Quiz Night at the Taradale RSA.
It was a night full of fun and laughter, and an opportunity to not only raise valuable funds for families in need but to also raise awareness and encourage people to ‘’get together to brighten lives’’.
Taradale President Kaye opened the evening, District 9930 Governor Ross Pinkham followed and shared information relating to Rotary, Claire provided guests with information relating to ShelterBox NZ and shared a video outlining the Rotary International and ShelterBox partnership – working together to see a world where no family goes without shelter when disaster strikes.
Thanks to our Quiz Master Brayden Coldicutt for his energy and enthusiasm throughout the evening - the quiz rounds, the drawing of raffles and auctioning of prizes were enjoyed by all.   Total funds raised;  $875.00.
The Quiz Night came to a nailing biting end with the winning teams being within points of each other, including;
1st Prize – ‘’The Taradale Terrors’’ came out on top and were pleased to take home a hamper filled with wine and other such delights!
2nd – ‘’The Smooth Operators” were just 2 ½ points behind the winners!
3rd – ‘’Super Sunrise’s’’ – a mere 1 ½ points behind again!
We would like to thank our fellow Rotarians from the Rotary Clubs of Ahuriri Sunrise, Greenmeadows and Hawkes Bay Rotaract for joining us, together with our partners, family and friends.  Where would we be without supporters, sponsors and volunteers – thank you.
