Last Meeting
This was an Evening for honoring John Willis for what he has done for the Rotary Club of Morrinsville, the community of Morrinsville, and its surrounding districts.
 
John was honoured to have family members, District Governor Ross Pinkham, Assistant District Governor Tom Stephenson, and his wife Corolyn, Representatives from Waikato Referees Assn., Port Waikato Camp Trust Board, David Street Primary School, Senior Citizens Assn., The Morrinsville Rugby Sub-union and Rotarians from Te Aroha and Paeroa Rotary Clubs are in attendance.
John is and has been involved in so many organizations and the tributes did flow last night.
 
Various Speakers from the above mentioned spoke highly of John. The common themes that came out were Leader, Motivator, Commitment, Passionate, Dedicated, True Gentleman, Cares, and Proud in the good sense.
 
John was honoured with 2 Awards, firstly the “Service Above Self” Award.
 
This Award was from Rotary International and is only awarded to 150 worldwide each year. It is the highest Award that Rotary International can bestow.
Secondly from District 9930, John received the Pin for a Paul Harris Fellowship with 2 Sapphires. This double sapphire pin recognizes the third Paul Harris Fellowship awarded to John.
In his response, John said he was very humbled and made mentioned of his Wife, Ailsa for her unconditional support.
