On December 2nd, Typhoon Kammuri (locally known as Tisoy) made landfall over the Philippines as a category 3 storm. 1.56 million people have been affected, with 320,000 homes reported as damaged. Just weeks earlier three major earthquakes (of 6.4, 6.6 and 6.5 magnitude) occurred in Cotabato Province, Mindanaowhere over 21,000 homes were destroyed and over 7,000 damaged. ShelterBox has made a decision to respond to both of these disasters and thanks to your generosity, support thousands of people who lost their homes.
We have responded to disasters in the Philippines more than any other country. Since 2004 we have responded 25 times in the country to various devastating disasters such as storms, typhoons, floods, cyclones, and earthquakes.
WHY DO SO MANY DISASTERS HAPPEN IN THE PHILIPPINES? WHAT ITEMS DOES SHELTERBOX PROVIDE? WHAT DOES OUR DISTRIBUTION LOOK LIKE?
The temperatures plummet across Syria and families who have fled their homes need your support. Do you know how cold it can get in Syria during the winter months? We think you'd be surprised by the reality. Test your knowledge here: http://bit.ly/2pquthC
