Since our last Newsletter, the situation for the Rohingya people has deteriorated.

As we approach the season of 'Goodwill" many families are living in dreadful conditions - crowded, muddy camps, without access to food, clean water or even adequate shelter - and they need your help.

ShelterBox have an experienced team on the ground working hard with local Rotary contacts and partners to help as many families as possible. Many left their homes with nothing and we know that they desperately need shelter, lighting, and water.

Please act now to provide shelter and security to families during their bleakest days. Any donation you give today will help provide sustainable emergency shelter and supplies to families in need.

'Jimmy Griffith returns to Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh'
Jimmy Griffith, a ShelterBox Response Team member from New Zealand, has recently returned to Bangladesh to work in the Cox's Bazar refugee camp with ShelterBox colleagues, who are supporting Rohingya families who have fled horrific violence.

ShelterBox is working with a cluster of other non-governmental organizations on a coordinated aid program, but the numbers needing help are challenging, and at times overwhelming. We have an experienced team in Cox’s Bazar working hard with local Rotary contacts and partners to help as many vulnerable families as possible. These families left their homes with nothing and we know that they desperately need shelter, lighting, and water.

'Community Kitchens in Peru'

In early 2017, all but one of Peru’s 25 regions were hit by the sudden flood that overwhelmed defences and gutted whole villages. Many people were lucky to escape with just the clothes on their backs. After sheltering on higher ground, many families returned to find homes heavily damaged or destroyed.
In the district of El Porvenir, so many families had lost everything that the local leaders have organised community kitchens. In these kitchens, different groups cook meals each day and the whole of the community eat together.

Help us to help the people of El Porvenir recover and rebuild.

'Winter brings much needed ShelterBox support'

The harsh winters of Syria are coming and families affected by conflict need support. In recent weeks we've distributed 1,400 winterised ShelterKits with ReliefAid which include blankets and mattresses for extra insulation. But there are still many more who need the shelter this winter.  Will you help?

'ShelterBox aids students with Personal Hygiene'
Reports are showing that women and girls in the far north of Cameroon are not going to school during menstruation as they don't have any materials to take care of their personal hygiene, fearing embarrassment and subjection to cultural taboos.
Simple items such as sanitary pads, soap and a bucket can give them the confidence to carry on. With our partner IEDA Relief we've distributed more than 2,000 hygiene kits to women and girls in the Minawo Camp who have fled Boko Haram violence.

'BANGLADESH' - Latest
Bizli was left with nothing when the land she lived on collapsed into the river and all of her possessions were completely washed away due to the flooding in Bangladesh.

Please help us to reach more families affected by natural disasters:

Distributions are now complete in Bangladesh after severe flooding left families without their homes. This would not be possible without our partnership with Rotary International and Bangladesh Red Crescent Society(BDRCS). In this video, Beth explains the types of aid we are distributing.
