Tauranga Sunrise meets early on a Friday morning so that it can draw in community-minded business people who might otherwise find it difficult to meet during traditional business hours.
Because we are business-friendly, our approach to attendance is flexible so that ‘busy’ people can contribute at a level that suits their other community and business interests.
Our focus is on fun, fellowship and community activity. With over 80 active members, we are active in a number of areas including youth (Rotary Youth Exchange and RYPEN), international support (Shelter Box fundraising, practical projects) and local community support.

We focus on quality of fundraising rather than quantity. Examples of fundraising projects have been land subdivisions, house building, art auctions, and Kitchen Hell. One of most successful legacy projects involved supporting a leprosy hospital in Vietnam.
